ASSESSORS MEETING MINUTES

JULY 29, 2010

 

7:15 P.M.  Called meeting to order.  Present: Paula B. Keefe, Richard B. Gorden, Ellen Abelson and Mark J. Mazur.

 

  1. The Board reviewed a notice from the State Bureau of Local Assessment regarding the reshuffling of certification years so that an equal number of communities come up for certification each year.  The Board noted that our Town’s next certification would be for Fiscal Year 2014 instead of 2013 as a consequence of this reshuffling.
  2. The Board read a letter from a commercial property owner accepting our settlement offers on their FY2010 appeals.
  3. The Board took the following actions in final settlement of the FY2010 appeals for the following parcels:

Parcel #  91-236  Granted

Parcel #  91-234  Granted

Parcel # 101-127  Granted

Parcel # 101-125  Granted

  1. The Board signed a special request for state permission under M.G.L. Chapter 58 Section 8 to abate the unpaid taxes due on parcel 39-108 for the fiscal years 2007 through 2009.
  2. The Board reviewed the bids for our data re-inspection project.  The Board unanimously chose Mayflower Valuation, Ltd. to complete our data re-inspection project.  Their bid was the lowest of the companies that were rated Highly Advantageous
  3. The Board decided to hold their next Board meeting on Wednesday August 11, 2010 at 4:45 P.M.
